SERBIA-MONTENEGRO COACH:
Ilija Petkovic

This is Ilija Petkovic's second stint with a national team from the area, having directed the Yugoslavian National Team for two months in 2001 after serving as an assistant coach to Slobdoan Santrac at France '98. At 60, Petkovic will be one of the oldest coaches at Germany 2006. He replaced Dejan Savicevic, who served from 2002-03. Petkovic, who scored six goals and appeared 43 times for Yugoslavia from 1968-74, played for Yugoslavia against Brazil in the opening game of the 1974 World Cup in Frankfurt, Germany. He played most of his career with OFK Beograd Belgrade in the old Yugoslavian First Division, appearing in more than 500 matches in 15 years. He also played with Troyes in France. Petkovic began his coaching career with OFK Beograd prior to directing Servette to the Swiss championship and coaching in Greece.
