UNION INJURY REPORT
Still not 100%
The Philadelphia Union go into Tuesday's Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup game against DC United at the Maryland Soccerplex at less than full strength.
Team manager Peter Nowak on Monday said goalkeeper Zac MacMath, who has been suffering from a concussion, has been cleared, but will undergo additional tests before the team heads to the DC area.
Sheanon Williams has an injured big toe, and Ramon Gaddis is fighting a bug he picked up over the weekend.
In addition, the team is missing two players due to National Team call-ups. Defender Porfirio Lopez has been called up by Costa Rica. He played 90 minutes in a 3-2 victory over Guatemala on May 25 and was not used in a June 1 match in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Lopez also will participate in World Cup qualifying matches against El Salvador and Guyana on June 8th and June 12th, missing the Unionís friendlies against Reading United and the Harrisburg City Islanders.
Midfielder Gabriel Gomez has been called up to the national team of Panama. Gomez, who has started all 10 games for the Union this season, will participate in World Cup qualifying matches against Honduras on June 8 and Cuba on June 12. The midfielder already missed the U.S. Open Cup game against the Rochester Rhinos and will also miss friendlies versus Reading United and the Harrisburg City Islanders, scheduled for June 9th and 12th.
