There they go again. For the fifth time in the last 16 years, a professional indoor soccer league has ceased operations. Monday, the Major Indoor Soccer League announced that it was pulling the plug on its current league structure, with plans to reorganize on a more cost-effective basis.

WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Management Committee of the Major Indoor Soccer League announced the league ceased operations effective May 31, 2008.
The decision comes a week after Commissioner Steve Ryan announced his resignation.
