Andre-Pierre Gignac scored his league-leading seventh goal of the season as Tigres (3-2-2, 11 pts) tied Queretaro 2-2 Friday at Estadio La Corregidora.
Veracruz 1, America 1
Rubens Sambueza staked the Aguilas (3-2-1, 11 pts) to a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute, settling a long pass from Osvaldo Martinez and beating Leobardo Lopez and three other defenders before slotting the shot. Edgar Andrade leveled the score with a booming free kick to the upper left corner in the 51st, and the Tiburones Rojos (0-4-2, 4) held on for the point despite losing midfielder Gabriel Peñalba to a red card in the 68th minute.
Toluca 1, Atlas 1
Toluca (1-4-1, 7 pts) and Atlas scored within three minutes of each other on their way to a 1-1 draw Friday at Estadio Nemesio Diez.
Toluca's Enrique Triverio opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 68th minute, after a foul by defender Walter Kannemann. Jefferson Duque equalized for the Zorros (1-2-3, 5) in the 71st, converting off an assist from Gonzalo Bergessio for his first Liga MX goal.
Netminder Alfredo Talavera preserved the point for Toluca with clutch late saves on Egidio Arevalo and Arturo Gonzalez.
The first-place Rayados (5-0-1, 15 pts) took command with a right-footed goal by Dorlan Pabon in the 21st minute and rebound strike by Edwin Cardona in the 57th.
Djaniny took one back for Santos (3-0-3, 9 pts) in the 66th minute, blasting the ball into the upper right corner from well outside the penalty area.
Cruz Azul 2, Queretaro 1
Cruz Azul defeated Queretaro 2-1 Saturday at Estadio Azul.
Joffre Guerron opened the scoring for La Maquina (2-3-1, 9 pts) with a header in the 39th minute. Joao Rojas took advantage of a turnover forced by Matias Vuoso to make the score 2-0 in the 75th, five minutes before Carlos Fierro put the Gallos Blancos (2-0-4, 6) on the board.
Tijuana 2, Tigres 1
Dayro Moreno scored twice as Tijuana beat short-handed Tigres 2-1 for their first win of the season Saturday at Estadio Universitario.
Moreno opened the scoring off a left-side cross in the 43rd minute, and completed his brace in the 61st after netminder Nahuel Guzman mishandled a ball outside the penalty area.
Clausura scoring leader Andre-Pierre Gignac (6 goals) connected for Tigres from outside the penalty area in the 71st minute. UANL played the second half a man down after forward Rafael Sobis was sent off with a straight red card in the 45th minute.
Xolos are in 12th place at 1-3-1 and six points, while Tigres fall to 3-1-1 (10).
Pumas 3, Dorados de Sinaloa 2
Luis Quinones led the way with a brace as Pumas (2-2-2, 8 pts) edged winless Dorados de Sinaloa 3-2 Saturday at Estadio Banorte.
Dorados staked UNAM to a 1-0 lead when defender Jesus Chavez deflected a Quinones cross into his own net in the sixth minute. Pumas led 2-0 at the intermission after Quinones scored his first goal in the 16th minute.
Yimmi Chara put Dorados (0-0-6, 0 pts) back in the game in the 47th minute, but Quinones put things out of reach in the 68th. Freddy Martin responded within seconds for Dorados, but the comeback stopped there.
Leon 1, Chivas 0
Mauro Boselli scored in the 78th minute to give Leon (4-0-2, 12 pts) a 1-0 win over Chivas de Guadalajara Sunday at Estadio Omnilife.
The deciding goal came after Chivas goalkeeper Antonio Rodriguez collided with a defender, causing him to misplay a ball and leave Boselli with an open net.
Chivas (0-4-2, 4) played the final 11 minutes shorthanded after midfielder Jair Pereira received two yellow cards within seconds of each other.
Pachuca 5, Puebla 2
Pachuca reeled off five unanswered goals to roar past Puebla 5-2 Sunday at Estadio Hidalgo and into second place in the Clausura standings at 4-2-0 (14 pts).
Franco Jara started the comeback with a 29th-minute penalty kick, after being fouled in the penalty area, and led all scorers with a brace.
Four of the Tuzos' goals came in the final ten minutes, starting with an own goal by Puebla midfielder Christian Bermudez in the 80th. Rodolfo Pizarro bounced the 20-yard game-winner into the net two minutes later, Jara completed his brace in the 89th and Simon Almeida closed things out off a corner kick in the third minute of stoppage time.
Puebla's Patricio Araujo scored off a corner kick in the 13th minute, and Christian Valdez made the score 2-0 with a header two minutes later.
The loss leaves Puebla in tenth place at 2-2-2 (8).
