HAWKS FALTER
Early lead doesn’t hold

Saint Joseph’s jumped out to an early lead, but LaSalle came back to win 2-1 in an Atlantic 10 Conference game Sunday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium.

Saint Joseph's (6-7-3, 3-4-1 A-10) took the lead, as Jen Pfeiffer took a cross from Lauren Sawyer and tallied her fourth of the season 21 minutes into the match.

La Salle answered back seven minutes later as Lauren Barker headed home a corner kick from Traci DePasquale for her first goal of 2009.
In the 88th minute, DePasquale took a cross from Morgan Golden and tallied her eighth goal of the season and her second game winner of the year, the sixth of her career.

In net for the Explorers (10-5-2, 4-3-1 A-10), picking up her 20th career victory was Melissa Sanger, who stopped eight Hawk shots, including two in the 83rd minute to keep the game tied. Christine Neal made three saves for the Hawks who outshot the Explorers 15-9.
