Penn State women add seven new recruits
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State has announced the additions of seven new Nittany Lions to the women’s team. The class is highlighted by Costa Rican national star Raquel Rodriguez Cedeño (San Jose, Costa Rica) and American standouts Corey Persson (Danvers, Mass. and Mallory Weber (Novi, Mich.). Four more recruits are set to join the squad in 2012 as well including Jenna Kalwa (Pennington, N.J.), Meghan Kaminski (Doylestown, Pa.), Mallory Peterson (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) and Meghan Ritchey (State College, Pa.).

Philly Soccer News honors Penn State’s Hayes
Penn State forward Maya Hayes has been named the Philly Soccer News Women’s College Player of the Year. She also is among the finalists for the Soccer News Net Women’s College Boot, awarded to the national player of the year.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Penn State sophomore striker Maya Hayes (West Orange, N.J.) and junior Christine Nairn (Arnold, Md.) were selected as an NSCAA All-Americans. Hayes was named to the first-team, while Nairn gathers her second straight NSCAA All-America Second Team honor.

But for the Penn State Nittany Lions, it was also a chance to take a break from reality. Penn State's scandal has been heard across the nation, and it's trickled into all sports. But watching the Nittany Lions kick around a soccer ball, you wouldn't know that they had anything else on their minds.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Northwestern's run continues. After wrapping up the season undefeated in conference play, the Wildcats earned a 2-1 win over Penn State to clinch the 2011 Big Ten Championship, and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Penn State to face Northwestern in Big Ten Championship
ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Sunday's Big Ten Championship match features Northwestern and Penn State. The two clubs went into the Tournament at opposite ends of the spectrum. Northwestern was undefeated in Conference play with a 4-0-2 record. Penn State had yet to win a Conference match with an 0-6 record. Sunday those records are out the window as its a trip to the NCAA Tournament that's on the line.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State fought a pesky Army side for over 85 minutes until Christine Nairn broke the scoreless deadlock to give the Nittany Lions a 1-0 win on Friday at Jeffrey Field. Nairn tallied her first game-winner of the year to move fourth-seeded Penn State into the NCAA Second Round.

ANN ARBOR - Mich. - Penn State sure didn't look like a team that hadn't won a regular season Big Ten match Friday evening. In fact, they looked like a team that hadn't lost. Penn State dominated play against the Wisconsin Badgers in the Big Ten Tournament semi-final, earning a 1-0 win and a place in Sunday's final.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women are on the way to their 17th consecutive NCAA tournament. The Nittany Lions received a matching four seed when the bids were announced on Monday, and host Patriot League champions Army in the first round, Friday at Jeffrey Field (7:00 pm).
