Drexel routs Canisius 5-0 under new coach
Drexel scored all five of its goals in the second half of a 5-0 rout of Canisius that gave first-year Head Coach Doug Hess a win in his premiere with the team. Brandon Zeller, Malcolm LeBourne, Nathan Page, Anthony Bafile and Andrew Goldberg all tallied in the season-opening victory. Sophomore keeper Tim Washam made six stops for his first shutout of the season.

Hess looking for Drexel to improve
New Drexel coach Doug Hess has three daunting tasks ahead of him as he starts his first season at the helm of the Dragons. Filling the shoes of local soccer legend Lew Meehl, who stepped down as coach after 18 years, is the least of them. Hess, who most recently coached at Campbell University in North Carolina, needs to turn around a team that finished last season with a 5-12-1 overall record and was last in the Colonial Athletic Association at 1-9-1.
