Player of the Year candidates Jason Yeisely (Penn State), J.T. Noone (Temple) and Conor O’Brien highlight the Philly Soccer News Men’s College Best XI.

Temple, which had a resurgent season under Soccer Six Coach of the year Dave MacWilliams, placed two players on the Best XI, Noone and goalkeeper Brett Mollon. Villanova-- Chris Christian and Mike Seamon and Bucknell—O’Brien and at Pat Selwood also placed two players each on the Best XI.

The Philly Soccer News college players of the year will be announced next week.

PHILLY SOCCER NEWS BEST XI
GK-Brett Mollon, Temple---Started 16 games for the Owls, making 84 saves and posting six shutouts.

D- Pat Selwood, Bucknell--- He was named MVP of the Patriot League Tournament after leading the team to back-to-back 1-0 wins over Lafayette and American. Selwood was a First Team All-Patriot League defender.

D-Jake Levin, Penn--- Levin started all but one match this season and anchored a defense that finished with a 1.44 goals-against average and shut out six opponents (two in Ivy play).

D- Chris Christian, Villanova---Anchored the Wildcats defense. Named to the first team All Soccer Six

M-Darren Christie, Delaware--- Christie tallied nine goals and a pair of assists. He was named first team Colonial Athletic Association.

M-Fabio Assumpcao, Drexel--- Scored a career-best seven goals to lead Drexel and rank among the top goal-scorers in the CAA.

M- Mike Seamon, Villanova--- Led the Wildcats in scoring in each of his four seasons and was a first team All-BIG EAST selection as a senior in 2009 (five goals, seven assists, 12 points).

F- Jason Yeisley, Penn State
The Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, Yeisley is a two-time All-Big Ten selection. Yeisley capped a stellar year in Happy Valley with 21 points and eight goals this season, including three game-winners.

F- Conor O'Brien, Bucknell
O’Brien is only the fourth player in Patriot League history to repeat as Offensive Player of the Year, winning in 2008 and 2009. He entered the conference tournament leading the conference in goals (10), assists (8) and points (28). O’Brien has a point in 15 of the team’s 19 games this season, and in 20 of the last 24 matches dating back to last year. Six of his 10 goals this season have been game-winners.

F- J.T. Noone, Temple
Led the Owls in assists (7) for the third straight year, and tallied three goals (13 pts). Noone was selected first team All-Atlantic 10. He earned Philadelphia Soccer Six Player of the Week three times this season, and broke Temple’s all-time assist record.

F- Ryan Richter La Salle--- He led the team in goals (7) and assists (7) for a team-leading 21 points. Those 21 points also led the Soccer Six, and he was named Soccer Six Player of the Year.

Honorable mention
M-Matheus Braga, Penn State, a unanimous First Team All-Big Ten selection in 2009, emerged as one of the Big Ten's most dangerous weapons on the attack, totaling a career-high seven goals and team-best seven assists (21 points)
