Second game winner give Lions the Classic

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior forward Corey Hertzog scored in the 88th minute to propel Penn State to a 1-0 victory over the College of Charleston (0-2) on Sunday afternoon on the final day of the Wolstein Classic. With the win, the Nittany Lions capture the 2010 Wolstein Classic title and earn their first 2-0 start since the 2000 season.

Rutgers routs Bison with three goal rally

LEWISBURG, Pa. –Rutgers broke open a scoreless match with three goals in the final 25 minutes to beat Bucknell 3-0 at Emmitt Field on Sunday afternoon. Ashley Jones scored the game-winner in the 66th minute to help the Scarlet Knights improve to 4-1, while the Bison fell to 1-4 against a tough early season schedule.

WEST HARTFORD, CT - La Salle freshman forward Renee Washington netted a pair of goals for the Explorers including the game-winning tally with less than four minutes left in the second extra session to register a 2-1 double overtime victory over Central Connecticut State Sunday afternoon at Alumni Stadium and with it, won the Hartford Tournament.

STORRS, Conn. – UConn forward Jessica Shufelt scored her second straight overtime game-winner with her left foot in the 93rd minute to propel the Huskies to a 3-2 win over the Penn State Nittanly Lions on Sunday. It was UConn’s fifth overtime game this season.
